Time to shine!

REFLECTIVE POST:
How many times do we use the words MOTIVATION, PERSEVERANCE, EFFORT, DISCIPLINE, HARD WORK, PROCESS and/or PROGRESS in our daily conversations with others or with ourselves? How many times those words are only words but they don’t translate into action? For 20 years I ‘wished’ for results without taking action. I spoke those words many times but did nothing. I reached a point where I thought I had nothing new to learn or to look forward to and settled for the status quo. My mental, emotional, physical and spiritual growth was stagnant. Deep inside I was disappointed and dissatisfied with myself. I fought to keep it that way too. It was exhausting.

I had to decide if I was voluntarily falling on the rock to be broken, or wait until the rock fell on me to crush me. I few years ago I surrendered my life to Jesus. I was a ‘Christian’ and had been for many years, but I was not living accordingly in many ways. I was not living the joy of salvation, the peace, the rest and completeness that comes with trusting God. I realized that mind, emotions, body and spirit connect and communicate, and that one reflects the other in many ways. Then, under the grace of God (not because I was seeking grace, but because He gave it to me freely in Jesus) MOTIVATION, PERSEVERANCE, EFFORT, DISCIPLINE, HARD WORK, PROCESS and/or PROGRESS took new meaning and new life. I know there is so much more to conquer today. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. I am that city. He is the hill I am settle upon, in whom I am built on. No more hiding. It is time to shine!
